The DC Center to Honor Sgt. Jessica Hawkins

In a city where transgender individuals often difficulties with employment and a sometimes challenging relationship with the Police Department, Sgt. Jessica Hawkins made history this year, coming out as a Transgender member of the District of Columbia Metropolitan Police Department (MPD), breaking barriers and building bridges in our community.
