Ingeborg Boxhammer was at the DC Center last month to share fascinating research about the lives of two German Suffragettes and lesbian couple Margarete Hertz and Helene Wolff. Helene passed in 1917 and during WWII Margarete lost everything to the Nazi Regime. Margarete moved to the US and made her first home in Chicago. Ingeborg has translated hundreds of documents (including letters between the two) saved by Margarete's family members (shown in the pic)
